INTIMATE NEIGHBORHOOD, PROXIMITY TO FAMILY
ATTRACT COUPLE TO COVINGTON VILLAGE
OCEAN COUNTY, NJ—Retirees Sol and Jane Kracov had
searched high and low for the ideal adult community, only
to have their daughter, Diane, lead them to their new home
at Matzel Development’s Covington Village in Ocean
County. Like many active adult homebuyers, their decision
to relocate was driven by the property maintenance and structural
upkeep associated with family homes. “Sol was set on
a ‘super maintenance-free’ house with practically
nothing to take care of,” recalled Jane, a former Administrative
Assistant. “At the same time, we wanted easy access
to our daughter and grandsons. Diane suggested Covington
Village.”
Most of the other communities the Kracovs visited were
very large developments constructed by national building
firms. “Many neighborhoods seemed too big and impersonal
to us,” Jane stated. “But the first thing we
noticed about Covington Village was how gracious and intimate
it was, surrounded by woods, with ponds and fountains at
the entrance. Sol also appreciated that condominiums are
virtually maintenance free, and we both loved the location
because it was only a few minutes to the roads leading up
to my daughter’s place.”
Sol, a former General Manager at a Northern New Jersey manufacturing
company, was also sold on the treatment the couple received
from the sales staff. “Unlike the people at the bigger
communities we visited, everyone here seemed to really care
about us and our needs. They were just more personable and
wanted to help us any way they could,” he said. “After
we moved in about three months ago, we noticed that all of
the community residents we met were just as friendly. This
is the kind of intimate neighborhood we were looking for,
but never found until that first visit with our daughter.”
The Kracovs purchased the two-bedroom, two full bathroom
Caspian home design, the largest of the three models offered. “We
wanted plenty of space for us and our daughter’s family
when they visited, which is going to be quite often, thanks
to this great location,” Jane said.
A secure, gated community, Covington Village is only minutes
from shopping, dining, golf courses and Jersey Shore beaches.
The “Covington Coach” community shuttle offers
weekly service for errands, as well as exciting trips to
well known attractions in other parts of New Jersey. This
month, for example, the shuttle will take residents to see
a holiday-inspired play on Long Beach Island, as well as
the holiday lights in historic Cape May.
