HOMEOWNERS SOLD ON LOCATION, CRAFTSMANSHIP AT COVINGTON VILLAGE

While the formula for defining “value” in an active adult community may never be etched in stone, one condominium homeowner at Covington Village echoed the sentiment held by the vast majority of his market-savvy peers: “Add quality craftsman to a great location and you’ve got the best lifestyle for the money.” So declared Joe Balady from this multiple award-winning Matzel Development neighborhood, where he and spouse, Donna, have been enjoying life to its fullest since occupying their spacious home April.

Having resided for the past five years in a large, 10-bedroom house located in nearby Howell Township, Joe and Donna set out to find the ideal adult home and community. Their three children had grown and, like many adult buyers, were weary of the home’s now-underutilized proportions, heating and cooling costs, and intensive maintenance. “To be perfectly honest, we were looking at single-family home communities and never even considered condominium living,” Joe explained. “But when we arrived here, two bells rang out. One was that the preserved woodlands location that was still within the area that we were familiar with and close to everything we love. The other was when we saw the materials and craftsmanship that went into the homes that were under construction.”

Joe’s later point was emphatically affirmed by his brother, who is a builder of high-end homes in another area. “There’s very little he hasn’t experienced on a jobsite, and this workmanship really stood out to him. Kudos to Matzel Development,” he said. “We realized that after a long search, we had somehow found exactly what we were looking just a few miles from where we came.”

The still-working couple chose the Caspian home design, largest of three offered at Covington Village. Its two full bedrooms and bathrooms, together with abundant closet and storage space, achieved their original
home shopping goal of securing slightly less living area without sacrificing comfort or practicality. In addition to a home and location that perfectly suit their needs, the Baladys have spent the entire summer season reveling at the outdoor heated pool and sundeck, located just outside of the amenities-filled clubhouse. “There are so many places to meet new people here,” said Joe. “It could be outside at the pool or patio, inside at the clubhouse lobby or the Covington Café restaurant.”

Prices at Covington Village start at $184,900. For more information, call 732-730-0021.
